We went to Applebee’s for dinner Friday night. This is my dinner BEFORE I ate anything. An the steak was over cooked and salty as hell. The problem with franchise retraunts is that they have to meet certain menu requirements. Probably receiving their food only from the main office’s distribution center. So they have to deal with markup twice on the food they get before it’s even delivered. Then they are forced into a marketing scheme developed by someone else. So they end up in a situation where they have very little profit margin to play with. In order to make it up, they have to cut costs elsewhere. Like in the cook and wait staff and portions of sides. The result is poor quality and poor service.
